On New Year’s Eve 2009 I was sitting up in Southbank, Brisbane, waiting for the fireworks at midnight. And I started reflecting on some of the magic moments of 2009. What an amazing year this has been!
As a whole I avoid taxis, they are expensive and they insulate you, you get a better feel for a place from trains, buses and walking. There are, however, exceptions that put you in touch with the country you are in.
Travel has been part of my life for many decades now. Travel was in my family’s blood long before me. I have relations in the USA, South Africa, Australia, Bali and all over the UK and Ireland.
